Amnesia Rebirth is considered one of the Scariest games of 2020
Amnesia Rebirth Known as one of the best examples of the psychological horror genre in the game industry, Amnesia: The Dark Descent creates a constant fear in the audience that gradually increases over time, and even when there are no scary scenes, the feeling is unfavorable. And it creates a constant fear in the player. Now, Frictional Games Studio is emphasizing that this will be repeated in the Rebirth version.
Talking to GameSpot, the creative director of Amnesia Rebirth, Thomas Grip, said that the main focus of the development team was to be able to implement the atmosphere of The Dark Descent in Rebirth and move the story around. In the same way, this game will become more scary over time and there will be constant fear with the player.
When we started making Amnesia Rebirth The Dark Descent, one of the things we wanted was the atmosphere at the core of the game. We wanted to be terribly human and permanent. We didn’t want the audience to sit in a chair and say, “Wow, I’m so scared. “A monster is following me.” So we decided to do something unique, not just to see a monster and be scared, but to have constant fear, and over time that feeling would increase.
- Resident Evil 8 will be the darkest and scariest version of the entire series
- Kojima wants to make a scary game to get your pants dirty
Grip emphasizes that Amnesia Rebirth will not only learn from the previous version, but also elements from the 2015 horror game of the same studio, SOMA. He tells the story of this game in such a way that he can lock the player from the beginning and follow him until the end of the game and look scary all the time.
Play Amnesia Rebirth later this year for PlayStation 4 and PC platforms will be released. Frictional Games is also developing an unannounced project that is said to be “crazier than the Amnesia series.”
Frictional Games declared the title, coming to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in fall 2020, Friday morning with a trailer. It’s been a long time since The Dark Descent originally made every one of us shout in fear, and Frictional Games said its next game will do likewise: “provoking players to try to avoid panicking even with unbelievable dread.” I, for one, will always remember the first occasion when I entered The Dark Descent’s overflowed foyer, a submerged beast sprinkling by my character’s feet.
